  • Image Metrics acquires FacePro to let gamers lip-sync for their lives

    August 5, 2010-Facial animation firm Image Metrix is announcing today that it has acquired FacePro to make lip-synching services for video games and movies more affordable. 

    Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Santa Monica, Calif.-based Image Metrics, which is publicly traded in the over-the-counter market, has acquired Idaho-based FacePro and will integrate its tools into Image Metrics’ portfolio of animation services.

    June 9, 2010 - In Splice, two scientists (Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley) cross the ethical cloning line with terrifying results by combining human and animal DNA. It's director Vincenzo Natali's Frankenstein, which took him a decade to make. Longtime Natali collaborator, Bob Munroe, the visual effects supervisor (formerly with the now defunct C.O.R.E. Digital), was on the project from the very beginning.
